The ISG Provider Lens™ (IPL) is a highly respected research programme, featuring key insights into the behaviours of technology enterprise buyers. The IPL Awards recognise the service providers who have contributed to the IPL research programme.
With nearly 20 reports, each one contributed to by a wide cross-section of technology providers across the globe, the challenge here was to consolidate a large number of awards – around 100 at each event – into a succinct and meaningful evening, featuring a cocktail reception, awards ceremony and seated dinner. The client sought the support of EMS to deliver two events in London, and two in Berlin, to enhance the events using our professional expertise.
EMS took on the project management for each event, sourced vendors to suit the client’s needs and budget, and as well as handling the guest coordination, logistics, and production, we devised a programme that would maximise the audience’s experience, whilst ensuring each provider was deservedly recognised with their award. Keeping a tight leash on the timings throughout the evening was key here.
The challenges in London included the restrictions of delivering a gala dinner and awards show in a long and narrow venue space – the venue was the two walkways at Tower Bridge in London. Floor planning and detailed site inspections were very important to get this right for the client and audience. Using a public attraction for your event venue can also be difficult as it enforces tighter limitations on your venue hire than a dedicated events venue would, and navigating these limitations takes some skill and planning. In Berlin, we were faced with a different set of challenges, which included presenting the awards show in all German-language, where EMS worked closely with a local partner in Berlin to ensure nothing got lost in translation.
